BLACK OPS 4 REVEAL

 

Call of Duty was starting to feel like an afterthought. We needed to find a way to create a cultural spike in awareness for the brand while also stoking the community for the thematic for the new title. To get the boost in cultural awareness we needed, we hacked James Harden’s walk in to his primetime NBA game with a simple hat. It surprised all of the CODNATION, lighting up some of the biggest news outlets and Call of Duty influencers. Then to stoke the community, we created a CG film that brought BO4's narrative universe to life and heroized the characters that would form the backbone of the game's playing experience. "Power in Numbers" tapped into the spring 2018 cultural zeitgeist of digital manipulation and privacy hacking by inter splicing relevant imagery with provocative language.
